ICED EARTH Drummer: No Rest For The Wicked

October 14, 2003

ICED EARTH/ex-DEATH drummer Richard Christy has issued the following update regarding his current activities:

"First off, my band BURNING INSIDE: Richard Christy (ICED EARTH, DEATH) - drums, Michael Estes (ACHERON) - guitar, Steve Childers (BLACK WITCHERY) - guitar, and Jamie Prim - bass and vocals, is playing our first show in two and a half years on Saturday November 8,2003 at The Lost and Found rock club in Longwood, Florida opening for ROB ROCK (former singer for IMPELLITERI). We have also finished writing material for a new album and are currently shopping a five song demo to record labels.

"I also just finished recording the drums for the LEASH LAW album with Wade Black (ex-CRIMSON GLORY, SEVEN WITCHES),Emo Mowery (ex-NOCTURNUS),Rick Renstrom and Steve Elder, in which everything turned out really well.

"In the past several months I have also had numerous comedy songs and voice mails played on 'The Howard Stern Show'. I'm now kind of known on the show as the guy who rags on K.C. Armstrong on the voice mail. And as recently as today they have played many comedy parody songs that I have recorded about the show, including a 'Chariots of Fire' remix (about Robin Quivers jogging with diarrhea accident) that they have been using as an intro to Robin's news, they played it this morning actually. I have been a huge fan of Howard's show for years and it is an honor to hear my voice and my songs on his radio show. You can usually recognize my Kansan accent on the voice mail messages that he plays.

"I am also working with my friend Tom Casper, who runs Dave Lombardo's website, on a website for myself. It will be richardchristy.com and it should be up in a month or two. The site will cover two of the most important aspects of my life, drumming and comedy. It should be a fun and different type of site.

"I am also planning to start my fifth full-length comedy movie soon for my movie company Pickled Creek Productions. The working title for it is 'Majestic Loincloth'. It will be an epic medieval, comedy, rock opera. I think it will be very funny. My other four comedy movies are available through the Century Media catalog."
